Dear Ms. Rodwell,

My name is Shiym Chastanet and upon finishing my academic journey in high school, I decided to pursue my education at City College of New York with Anthropology being my major. After my undergraduate year, I aim to complete my PhD in anthropological studies at a university located in New York. I intend to become a paleoanthropologist that studies hybridization in human evolution by researching existing primate populations that express this process and help in the conservation efforts of saving the Western Lowland Gorillas. 

Before enrolling into your course, I had developed different strengths in my writing throughout my high school journey. I am finding useful sources, developing an outline, and summarizing information for readers to better understand. These skills have allowed me to write essays that allow the reader to comprehend what I am trying to convey. At the same time I have noticed I struggle in developing an eye catching hook, wrapping up a conclusion, and proof-reading my writing effectively. In your class I intend to overcome these weaknesses and develop them into strengths that I can utilize in my writings.
